• Hard Drive & Media Shredding

  Hard Drive Shredding Richards & Richards is Nashville’s only NAID AAA Certified media shredding company with the ability to permanently destroy all data on computer hard drives by applying 20,000 lbs of conical force onto the platter of the drive. This massive force crushes the hard disk’s spindle and forms ripples in the platter and cuts it into pieces, rendering all data irrecoverable. We will barcode each drive received and scan the serial number as the alternate ID, to verify destruction. We will provide you with a certificate of destruction listing each hard drive by serial number. Magnetic Media Shredding Richards & Richards destroy CDs, DVDs, computer back up tape or other magnetic media either on a bulk weight basis or individually track destruction of individual pieces. All magnetic media is completely destroyed by a ShredPax model AZ-7V shredder. This machine grinds the material into small pieces. Destroyed pieces will be recycled or sent to a landfill – this material is in no way usable or reconstructable after the process. Individual tracking is made available for large capacity media such as computer back-up tapes that can contain large amounts of personal data. This provides a tape by tape audit trail of their destruction for your records. e-Recycling The ever-changing nature of technology creates a constant need to have a partner to securely and properly dispose of your out-of-date equipment so that you can incorporate the new. • Collection Containers

  Richards & Richards offers two standard shredding bins. The look and dimensions are below. Executive Console The light gray executive console to the right fits very well in an office environment. It is 40”H x 19”W x 19”D. A cloth bag with confidential information is replaced with an empty bag. The full bag is secured with a security cinch and placed into a locked 96-gallon container for transporting to the locked truck. It holds approximately 3 cubic feet or 75 lbs of paper. 96-Gallon Security Container A 96-gallon security container is available for areas of high volume. It is gray and measures 43”H x 35”D x 24”W. It holds approximately 10 cubic feet or 250 lbs of paper.

Convenient Walk-In and Drop-Off Shredding You do not need to remove staples, paperclips, binder clips, or file folders from your documents. We use state-of-the-art destruction equipment to shred your paper and non-paper information into tiny, unrecognizable particles. We can also destroy your old hard drives and computers (no monitors, cell phones, printers, fax machines or copy machines, please) too! The entire shredding process is recorded to video and stored for 90 days. We recycle your shredded material and provide you with a Certificate of Destruction. Pricing for Walk-In and Drop-Off Shredding Our walk-in and drop-off shredding service costs $3.00 per cubic foot (a cubic foot is a small banker’s or copy box, approximately 10”x12”x15”) with a $30 minimum per drop-off. Your electronics are disassembled by hand and the pieces of each device are separated and recycled with a safe, raw material extraction process. Data storage devices are destroyed with our specialized hard drive and media shredding equipment. Once destroyed, all recyclable material is used to produce a variety of new metal and plastic products.
