Originally from Texas, Dr. Morrison came to Nashville in 1996 for his orthopaedic residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He completed his training in 2001 and was recognized as an outstanding resident in the education of medical students by the Vanderbilt General Surgery Department. Dr. Morrison joined SJRI in August of 2002 after completing his Otto Aufranc Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery

Originally from a small town in south Texas, Dr. Morrison attended Baylor University on the prestigious Presidential Scholarship and as a member of the University Scholars program. While at Baylor, he was a member of Baylor’s Men’s Soccer team, Phi Beta Kappa, and the president of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Dr. Morrison continued his studies at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he earned his medical degree and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. After Baylor, Dr. Morrison completed his internship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Vanderbilt University and the Otto E. Aufranc Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Morrison is board certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a member of the American Orthopaedic Association Society, and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. Dr. Morrison has authored many articles and book chapters in leading joint replacement publications, and is a frequent lecturer in the field of primary and revision joint replacement surgery both in the United States and internationally. He takes his passion for restoring motion and improving quality of life FOR all outside of the U.S. through medical mission work and has performed joint replacements in Guyana, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, and India.
