  Dental Fillings

  Traditional fillings consist of a metal amalgam that is very noticeable. In contrast, the dental material that is used for white fillings resembles natural dental tissue so closely, it even has applications in cosmetic dentistry. Amalgam fillings contain a mixture of various metals, including mercury. Although the American Dental Association recently reaffirmed the amount is entirely safe, many patients still prefer not to have metal placed in their bodies. The best way to preserve your oral health is to remove as little natural tooth structure as possible. Composite resin bonds more easily with a tooth than metal, allowing us to preserve more of your natural dental tissue.

  Teeth Whitening

  All cosmetic dentistry requires a healthy smile foundation. If you have tooth decay or gum disease, we will treat these issues before whitening treatment. Whitening is not a good option if your front teeth have crowns, veneers, or bonding, because they don't respond to bleaching and would stand out after whitening. Whitening only lifts stains on the outer layers of a tooth. Discoloration at the interior, caused by aging or root damage, should be addressed with other methods, such as veneers.
